How to Undo an Overdo

ImageYou did it–rather, you overdid it. You ate too much, drank too much, or simply had two desserts you didn’t need and fell asleep on them. This morning, you feel well, frumpy. Don’t fear, you didn’t do as much damage as you think. Remember a pound equals 3,500 calories. So, even if you ate the entire box of donuts, and washed them down with a jug of whole milk, you’re out a pound. Despite the sugar shock you placed on your body, you’re going to be okay. In the whole scheme of things, it’s really not a big deal. Chock the day up to an “off day” and gear up for a new day. Here’s the game plan:

Image#1. Spend the day drinking (guzzling) water. Drink water as often as possible. You need to literally flush your system of the toxins you consumed during your indulgence.
#2. Eat 24-30 grams of fiber throughout the day. Do not go to sleep until you’ve ingested this fiber. Fiber works as a broom within your system to “sweep” out toxic buildup which makes it easier for fat cells to move through your body.
#3. Get 30-1 hour of activity. Literally, go sweat out the toxins. (Are you noticing a key word?) If possible, book an ion cleanse to help move toxic debris along.
#4. Stick to stuff from the earth: grains, water, fruits, vegetables, beans as much as possible. Grab most of your calories from these foods.
#5. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF or limit your calories below 1,000 calories. Depending on your height, weight, and age, you need a certain amount of calories to keep the fire burning within your system. Think of your metabolism as a fire. Think of these foods as lighter fluid, which boosts flames. On the contrary, foods that are high fat, highly processed, high sodium, or with many preservatives act like dirt/sand which puts a fire out. Trust me, you don’t want your fire to burn out. If it does, your body stops burning fat and calories as efficiently. This tip is especially important immediately following a day of over-indulgence.
#6. Drink tea once or twice throughout the day. I say caffeine is a-okay!* It’s my experience that caffeine also helps keep things moving–if you know what I mean. That is exceptionally important after a splurge as well. (*I want to make it clear that there is zero scientific research attached to this statement. It is purely my personal opinion.)
#7. Your taste buds may feel a little deprived since they got a mouthful–literally–yesterday, don’t give into them. Remember that the first bite of anything is the most savory, so if you are feeling weak, just have one bite of the indulgence. One small bite will not derail your efforts.Image
#8. Get a good amount of sleep. Your muscles and digestive system regenerate as you sleep, so give your body time to do this. Also, if you’re asleep, you’re not consuming anything
#9. Plan out tomorrow’s meals. Planning ahead ensures that you’ll have the supplies needed and fuel yourself appropriately.
#10. Spend a few minutes looking in a full length mirror before you go to bed. Say three nice things about your body and appearance. Smile at yourself. heck, even blow a kiss!

I GO TO THE GYM AT 4 AM AND I’M NOT A MORNING PERSON!

My transformation

My transformation

Hey all! I’ve been absent a few weeks from the blog, but I’m ready to share my progress, my crazy life, my words of wisdom and my new successes with you all!

So proud of how hard I have worked to get my post-baby body back!

So proud of how hard I have worked to get my post-baby body back!

Where to start? First of all, Beau is doing MUCH better! He’s off of his liver medication finally and he’s smiling and doing cute baby things. Bryan and I are very grateful for this!

Beau is finally feeling better! This smile makes me happy!

Beau is finally feeling better! This smile makes me happy!

Training is going great! I have seen SIGNIFICANT changes in my body! My muscle definition is coming back, I’m lifting heavier weights, I’m no longer ready to pass out after jogging 1 minute on the treadmill (I can now do 45 minutes non-stop!), I feel more confident in myself and I’ve nearly lost all of my post-baby weight!

I’m wrapping up week 7 of working out and I’ll be entering week 8 on Monday. While I’m more than excited about the progress I’ve made to-date and the progress I’ll continue to make, it hasn’t always been easy. I’m human and have days that I don’t feel like I’m getting the most out of my workout and days when I don’t feel like I’ve made as much progress as I think I should have. I sent Marzia a text one morning feeling discouraged. I was in week 6 of training and feeling like I should have more definition in my abs area. She reassured me that the definition will come and that HELLO! – I JUST HAD A BABY! It takes time for the body to heal and transform. I spent 9 months stretching it out. It will take more than 6 weeks to get it back. Reality check? Yes. What I needed to hear? Yes. I, like everyone else working on getting into shape, have to remember that TIME is the key. And patience. But sometimes I’m not so good with patience. Haha!

Finally seeing my some muscle now!

Finally seeing my some muscle now!

Due to my crazy schedule and new responsibilities as a mom, my workout time comes EARLY. My alarm goes off at 4:10 a.m. and I’m at the gym by 4:45 a.m. And trust me (or ask my husband), I’m NOT a morning person! But, that’s what best fits my schedule, so that’s what I’m doing. Make time, not excuses, right?

I’m still eating clean. I’ve found all sorts of new ways to creatively eat clean and enjoy my favorite meals. My go-to’s are stuffed bell peppers, spaghetti squash, zucchini “sushi,” and Portobello mushroom pizzas. Sundays have turned into our grocery shopping days. We bring everything home, get it sorted, rinsed, in storage bags and put away. Monday nights I do my meal prepping for the week while Bryan plays with Beau and the dogs. It takes me a few hours, but it saves me TONS of time later in the week. It also keeps me on track. If I have something made and ready to go, then I don’t need to go out for fast food or hit the candy drawer. I have everything I need. Bryan has been amazing with my eating habits. He tries everything I make and, to his surprise I’m sure, has liked almost everything so far (except Portobello mushroom pizzas – that’s too much mushroom for him). And if we have a date night and decide to go out for dinner, he’s very mindful of what I can and can’t have and makes suggestions based on that. At the least, a decent salad has to be on the menu for me. No chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and gravy for me. I may have a bite of his every now and then, but I’ve come to not even really want it anymore. It may taste good, but the effects of several meals like that aren’t worth it to me. I prefer to keep my body happy and healthy, not feeling heavy and greased down.

An example of one of my snacks

An example of one of my snacks

I eat a cheat meal for dinner on Friday nights. I plan it ahead of time as my “treat.” And even then, I’m conscious of what I’m eating. We went for pizza last week. Instead of loading it with pepperoni, sausage and cheese, I had them load it with veggies, minimal sauce and minimal cheese. I’ve learned, too, that not eating heavier, greasier meals or candy and junk food for an extended period of time makes you not WANT to eat them anymore. I don’t crave them. I can easily pass them over, even when others are eating them right in front of me.

Meal prep is important for me to stay top of my health

I still blog on my Facebook fitness page (https://www.facebook.com/F3byACG) and now also blog and interact on BodyBuilding.com’s “BodySpace.” It’s the Facebook for fitness junkies. And I won’t lie, I love it! It’s everyone working on their fitness goals encouraging and motivating each other along the way. I’ve come to be friends with some inspiring people there who encourage me to keep going after my fitness goals!

My day look at the law firm

My day look at the law firm

I also still work full-time at my law firm. Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30. It makes for a crazy day sometimes by the time I get up, go to the gym, come home and get ready for work, help Bryan with Beau and either he or I take him to the sitter’s house, drive to work, work all day, drive back to pick up Beau and head home, take care of the dogs, make dinner, get Beau settled down and ready for bed… It’s a LOT. I’m blessed to have my husband, though. He helps with it ALL. Well, all except the cooking. I love him, but he’s not a cook. Haha! But he makes up for that by helping with laundry, picking up the house, taking care of Beau, playing with the dogs, packing Beau’s diaper bag, etc.

Love my husband!

Love my husband!

AND, I’m still a distributor for It Works! I joined Marzia in this business adventure and it’s been amazing! The It Works wraps and stretch mark cream have been instrumental natural supplements to my working out and clean eating. They tighten, tone and firm the skin, ridding the body of toxins and help you lose inches! I use one once a week and it’s helped my tummy come around! And I see definition there now! The stretch mark cream has been amazing with my tiger stripes from Beau! They’re drastically less noticeable! Now I’m using their Hair Skin Nail product to grow my hair out. And it’s growing like crazy. As well as my nails. It’s a nice change!

The products that helped me get my post-baby body back!

The products that helped me get my post-baby body back!

Not only do I enjoy the products, but I’ve met so many people who love them and have amazing results with them! My gym is now introducing them through me, I’ve got a team going under me that’s loving them and spreading the word about them, and Marzia and I are taking Dallas by storm to let everyone know about them! If you’re looking for something natural (herbal/botanically based) to help you on your health/beauty/fitness journey, I HIGHLY recommend It Works products! You can get them at my website www.bodybellisimo.com or message me about them at Ashley.casalini@gmail.com.

Overall, I’m one busy lady. But, with the help and support from my amazing husband, I find time to do it all. And I love it. I love my crazy, busy, fitness filled, healthy living, life. And even more than that, I love my husband and Beau. They drive me to be the best me and to keep going. I’ll make my bikini competition this year. I’ll inspire at least one person to follow their dreams. I’ll find my calling in the fitness industry and make the career change. I’ll be successful and make an extra income to live on with It Works! I’ll do it all. Because I believe in myself and because I have a support system that believes in me.

Working out, eating right, and wrapping tight keep me in shape after my baby

Working out, eating right, and wrapping tight keep me in shape after my baby

I highly encourage you all to find that support system for yourself if you haven’t already. It’s amazing. I also encourage you all to remember that you can do ANYTHING you want. In fitness. In health. In beauty. In LIFE. Just go for it!

Until next time,

Ciao,

Ashley Casalini! Garcia

FROM TIGER STRIPES TO BIKINI READY!

Excited to rock a bikini after pregnancy!

Excited to rock a bikini after pregnancy!

Hey y’all! It’s Ashley!
WHEW, let me tell you, it’s been a seriously crazy couple of weeks! It is currently 10:15pm and this is my time to settle down and unwind. Bryan (hubby) and I have put Beau (baby) to bed, settled the dogs down for the night, enjoyed our dinner and now get to relax. Our days are long, but they are worth it!

Winding down after a long day...ahhh...

Winding down after a long day…ahhh…

With work thrown back into the mix, I’ve had to figure out how to get to the gym in time to get a solid workout in. I can no longer go in the middle of the day or late at night. My gym’s hours are 4:30am-10:00pm Monday-Thursday, 4:30am-7:00p on Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm on Saturday and 8:00am-4:00pm on Sunday. The answer to my dilemma? Wake up at 4:15am and get to the gym by 4:45am (or 5:00am if I hit the snooze button!) before my mind realizes what in the world I’m doing!! Is it tough? You bet. I’m absolutely not a morning person. At. All. However, I’m very much of the mindset that I can make time to get my workouts in, not excuses as to why I can’t. It’d be easy to say “that’s too early,” or “I’m too busy with work, hubby and Beau.” The truth is that I am busy. But I also want to reach my goals and to be able to live healthy and take care of myself. So, that means making time for me. Even if it is crazy, stupid early!

Healthy meal prep is essential as a new mother or I will make bad choices.

Healthy meal prep is essential as a new mother or I will make bad choices.

I still do my meal prep. In fact, after we laid Beau down tonight (around 8:30pm), I was in the kitchen chopping, slicing, dicing, steaming and sautéing meals to have ready to simply grab-and-go in the mornings when I’m running out the door to work. Has it made for a long night? Ya, a little bit. But it’s absolutely worth it!! I won’t have any excuse to order out for lunch or to grab cookies for snacks. I HIGHLY recommend spending a couple hours one night a week to cook some healthy food and make some healthy snacks to have readily available and easy to take with you. It’s amazing how much time and effort it saves you throughout the week!
And now, because I’m not busy enough, I’ve teamed up with Marzia and am a distributor for It Works! Have you heard of that crazy wrap thing? Have you seen what the wraps and/or creams can do? Y’all, it’s amazing stuff! You should ask me about it. In fact, I’ll go ahead and give you a peek preview! It’s no secret that Beau left me with some pretty fancy stretch marks. However, I’ve been using the Stretch Mark cream for about 3 weeks and have done 2 wraps from It Works! The stretch marks have faded SIGNIFICANTLY and the wraps have helped with the weight loss and toning. It’s like having your own personal at-home spa experience. And I’m not just saying all of this to try and convince you to contact me about it, I promise (although you should! Visit my page at http://www.BodyBellisimo.com to see all the products). I’m saying this because I had to try it out for myself and see it to believe it. And holy moly y’all! I’ve got pictures to prove that the It Works! products ACTUALLY WORK!! And they feel amazing!

I couldn't believe it till I tried it.

I couldn’t believe it till I tried it.

My life is busy. Beau. Bryan. Dogs. Family. Friends. Work. Working out. Blogging on my Facebook Fitness page (https://www.facebook.com/F3byACG). Blogging for the Healthy Housewives Transformation series. Meal Prepping. I’m probably forgetting something. Would I change any of it? Absolutely not!
Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I truly believe that God doesn’t give me any more than I can handle, nor does He let me take on more than I can handle. I choose to believe that my future is bright and I am determined to make sure that I live, and inspire others to live, a healthy lifestyle.

With each passing week, I feel better and better!

With each passing week, I feel better and better!

From one crazy, busy full-time professional, wife and mommy to all of you – living a healthy lifestyle is absolutely possible! Stick with it! I’ll check back in soon with more progress and possibly crazy stories!

Healthy Housewives Live Transformation Ashley Casalini Garcia Progress

Check out my progress since having Beau!

Check out my progress since having Beau!

Hey there! It’s Ashley! I am now 10 weeks post-pregnancy, 4 weeks into eating clean and going into week 3 of training mean. I feel GREAT! I’m learning so much about myself and my body.

I have such a new found respect for working women and mothers, both in and out of the fitness world. Even as a woman who constantly stays busy, as a new mom, I’m discovering what it’s like to juggle so much and still make time for myself. It’s not always easy and I’m SO blessed to have the support system around me that I do! Between Marzia, The Healthy Housewives, my husband, my family and my friends, I’ve been given nothing but love and support. This has allowed me to both be there for my baby, Beau, and husband, Bryan, without having to give up on myself, my dreams and my goals.

I am in competition with myself to live the best life I can!

I am in competition with myself to live the best life I can!

Here is a glimpse of my daily life. As of March 19th I’ll be done with my maternity leave and headed back to work, so this will change slightly. The eating clean will remain the same, but instead of going to the gym in the afternoons/evenings, I’ll go before work in the mornings.

I have to prep my meals to stay on top of my health!

I have to prep my meals to stay on top of my health!

MORNINGS:

I wake up anywhere between 7am and 10am, depending on how many times and how long I was up with Beau during the night (he’s still not sleeping through the night). Once I get up, the first thing I do is drink a glass of water mixed with 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar and the juice from ½ a lemon. Then I feed my 2 big dogs so that they’re happy pups!

Breakfast:

Breakfast is either egg-whites and oatmeal with berries or egg-white muffins and protein pancakes with berries. And of course, water!

Egg white muffins and protein pancakes are my typical breakfast

Egg white muffins and protein pancakes are my typical breakfast

The fun/interesting part about ANY of my meals is that I’m either enjoying them by myself or I’m balancing a fork in one hand to feed me and a bottle in the other to feed Beau. As a mom, I would definitely say that I’m taking the art of juggling, balancing and multi-tasking to a whole new level!

I also open up my Facebook fitness page and say Good Morning to friends and new followers, post breakfast photos and/or a motivational message.

Chores:

I try to keep Beau happy and entertained long enough to throw a load of laundry in, empty/fill the dishwasher, clean bottles and/or generally pick up around the house. Sometimes it works out great. Sometimes not so much! Sometimes trying to find time to get anything done, including simply taking a shower, is a real challenge!

Of all my responsibilities, I love being a mommy first!

Of all my responsibilities, I love being a mommy first!

Snack:

For a snack I really enjoy celery, cauliflower and carrots with hummus or Greek yogurt with blackberries and KIND brand vanilla blueberry oat clusters.
AFTERNOON:

Since Beau had such a rough start to his life, he still has doctor appointments each week. It may only be one or it may be more than one. He goes between a gastroenterologist for liver issues, the hospital to get blood work done and his pediatrician for general check-ups. If I take him to the gastroenterologist, I also take him for blood work the same day. This means bottle feedings at doctors’ offices, diaper changes in restrooms and eating while I’m out (I’ll get to this in a minute).

If I’m not at any doctor appointments, I’m continuing with Beau duty, updating my Facebook fitness page, doing chores or working out. Since I’ve been a runner my whole life, I enjoy putting Beau in the jogging stroller and going outside for a run and/or taking him with me to the gym and letting him hang out in the “Kid Zone” while I go through my workout.

I run while Beau sleeps

I run while Beau sleeps

Lunch:

I’m a HUGE fan of meal-prepping, so lunch is pretty easy for me, whether at home or on the go (more on this soon…). I have either 3 oz. of grilled chicken or 3 oz. of turkey burger and 2 cups of steamed or sautéed veggies. Sometimes I add homemade sweet potato wedges or brown rice. And, of course, water!

A typical meal that fuels me for life

A typical meal that fuels me for life

Snack:

I usually have a simple protein shake for my afternoon snack or one of my pre-made raw veggie snack bags.

EVENING:

If I didn’t get a chance to work out during the afternoon, I go to the gym in the evenings when Bryan gets home from work. He takes over on Beau duty and I get “me” time to focus on my fitness! I drink water throughout my workout and a simple protein shake after. Then once I get home from the gym, Bryan goes and gets his fitness on! I take care of Beau, play with the pups, update my Facebook fitness page and have dinner.

My happy baby Beau! :)

Dinner:

Dinner is either another one of my pre-made meals or a portabella pizza. I’m a HUGE fan of pizza, so I really enjoy making portabella pizzas. I simply take a large portabella, clean it out, cook it a little, stuff it with veggies and turkey pepperoni (think supreme pizza) and top it with just a sprinkle of cheese and throw it in the oven until the cheese has melted…YUM! And, as always, water with my meal!

Snack:

Depending on how much exhausted I am from Beau and my workout, I may make it to one last snack before bed. If I do, it’s Greek yogurt and blackberries.

SUNDAYS AND MEAL PREP:

On Sundays I spend a few hours doing meal prep. I grocery shop, clean and cut veggies and fruits and weigh out my meat proteins. Then I steam, grill, sauté and bake everything. I use simple seasonings like parsley, lemon, rosemary, paprika, cinnamon, garlic and red pepper. No salt. No sugar. I portion out meals for the week and snack bags of fruit or veggies that are easy to grab on the go (like when I go to doctor appointments or out to run errands). This makes life SO much easier for me and keeps me eating healthy! I have no excuses to stop for fast food or junk food when I already have healthy meals and snacks ready for me!

If you buy good food, you will eat good food!

If you buy good food, you will eat good food!

SAMPLE WORKOUT:

Here is an example of one of my leg workouts:

2 sets/15 reps
Around the world lunges (front, side, and back-both sides)
2 minute jump rope
Plié squats
2 minute jump rope
Bulgarian split lunge (both sides)
2 minute jump rope
Single leg deadlift
2 minute jump rope
Repeat from the top until you have completed 2 sets

I have a while to go to get to where I want to be, but I’m enjoying every minute of it. Fitness has always been my passion and I’m excited that I’m taking steps to make it my career. I’m also excited to share my journey with others and to hopefully continue to inspire others to chase their dreams, whatever they may be!

I’m doing everything I can to do my “homework” and learn as much as I can about all aspects of the fitness industry, including reading about clean and healthy eating and the benefits of all types of healthy foods, researching fitness photographers, reading stories and workouts from women in the fitness industry, following bikini competitions and the women in them and reading about all types of different workouts (TRX, pilates, yoga, weight lifting, stretching, Zumba, rock climbing, running).

I pack healthy snacks so I am not tempted to make a bad decision!

I pack healthy snacks so I am not tempted to make a bad decision!

HOWEVER, while fitness is my passion and I want to make it my career, I am first, and foremost, a mommy and a wife. I love taking care of my little man, playing with my dogs and sharing my love, friendship and faith with my husband. His support means the world to me and continuously inspires me.

I LOVE my husband!!

I LOVE my husband!!

Until next time, eat clean, train mean and follow your dreams! It’s NEVER too late to start!

Ciao,

Ashley Casalini Garcia

MOTIVATE THE MIND AND THE BODY WILL FOLLOW

l blog 5First understand that anything in this article is by no means a judgment , a mocking of others, or meant to show myself in a “know it all” light.
This is more of a been there – done that…A learned it, lived it kind of thing, an educated awareness and profound aha .
An observation of loved ones and an empathy of the people I coach that want nothing more to finally do everything they want to do .
This year I’ve adopted a saying “getting your mind right will make everything all right. ”
And I do mean everything .

If you are new to this , this first part may not sound like you ( because you are not even equipped with the how-to basics yet) so pay extra attention for the not-so-hidden tips of staying on track.

So check this scenario:
New Year’s Day … The last two weeks you’ve ate and drank all you wanted, because that was the LAST time you would ever taste your beloved favorite foods and cocktails. Ever again. EVER.
Eating that much in a small amount of time is highly NOT recommended for many reasons. Note, however, that you ate 3 times as much as normal because you needed to get it out of your system or out of the house or whatever other excuse you’ve told yourself to feed your indulgence . We will get more into that later .
On with the scenario ….
You are fully equipped this year
You’ve got your goal list , and your healthy food shopping list.
You may even have a whole months meal plan . Yay you !!!
You’ve cleaned out your cupboards , drawers , car and office of any temptation that can send you into the spiraling depths of “diet hell “.
And oh that’s right you have learned your new terminology of “eating healthy” not “dieting” . Awesome (no seriously , awesome 😉 )
You’ve purchased your gym membership, put in the treadmill, or purchased the latest greatest DVD workout system .
Oh and you’ll need an accountability partner . Get on that phone ASAP !
Or heck even an accountability group . Because this year you are doing this thing!!
Maybe if you’re able you have invested in a coach or personal trainer .. Perfect

So goal list , healthy food , workout plan , accountability partner .
Check, check, and check !!
And an attitude to rock the house. Oh hell yeah!
Day 1…day 5…day 7…
You have not cheated once , even though Judy from the office brought the yummy holiday cookie remnants.
You notice a lighter feeling in your belly a pep in your step and hey maybe even a couple pounds lost .
You are actually going to do this this year and it takes 21 days to build a habit so you are well on your way .
Day 8 ..Monday morning
“Ahh another grueling work week start . I just need some more sleep…” *Alarm clock snooze* “I’ll get my workout in after work .”
Evening comes. You’re tired. No gym today but DEFINITELY tomorrow. .
“Which is not so bad because my book said 80% if my healthy success is in the kitchen . No problem , I got this .”
Friday night .. Facebook notice. ., office party , Bfs birthday bash, or “well it’s the weekend.”
“OMG ! I forgot about that , how can I be social and not eat drink or indulge , how can I not go ? What will people think!?”
Saturday night comes. You are going to a party. Maybe your still equipped , and coach says “Eat your selected food before you go ” or “bring it with you ” .
Ok, great .

—-The Party—-
Friend number 1 : Can I get you a drink. ?

You : Nope I’m good (phew dodged that bullet )

Friend 2 : Ok so you are NOT drinking because of some new silly life style change? Yeah ok you’ll last. ( Maybe saying the second part under their breath as they walk away)

Friend 3 :Here I bought you a drink . Yeah, I know you are trying “really hard” this year , but one won’t hurt .
You: Yeah one won’t hurt . I can even probably do 2 and be fine .
(Back on the horse tomorrow . No problem for me)

3 drinks in , the table food of fried yummies calls your name . Every couple mins in fact .
I’ll just indulge, just this time . Sunday morning hangover and gut wrenched . No gym today !! Start again on Monday. Cuz well that’s when the starting over has to happen . Right ?

Your next week is full of ups and downs. You’ve gained back the few pounds you’ve lost . And your motivation is down. “Oh hell what’s the sense it never works .. Nothing I ever do and I’ve tried everything . I’ll try again next New Years. Bring on the pizza and beer !”
Scenario over. Alright so here’s what your missing .
Did you remember to tell your brain !???

It sounds crazy because we automatically think that because we have stated a goal , resolution or whatever that our brains must automatically fall in line .

Right ?

Wrong .

Our Brains actually automate to whats easiest , whats comfortable , what is already routine .

The Brain needs to be not only well informed of your new intentions, but “conditioned ” in your new lifestyle thinking.

IF , that is, you really want to be successful.

Especially in a result of life long change and stick-to-itveness.

l blog 4

This must be decided , first and foremost .

Referring to the reasons WHY you started will always bring you back to something stronger than “I just want to lose weight”.

Do you want to feel amazing ? Alive ? Energetic ? Do you want to be around longer for your spouse, kids or grandkids ? Do you want to feel better to do your job ? Do you want to feel sexy in your little black dress or favorite lingerie ? Maybe you want the ex and his new found gf to take notice ? (Hey no judgment here, I’m a big fan of whatever it takes to get the job done ) .

That is why it’s YOUR “why” and no one else’s. It’s whatever appeals to you .

Just make sure it is strong enough to beat your snooze button or beloved chocolate cake.

Stop thinking of terms of “sacrifice ” . The minute our bodies think of what we are “giving up ” is the minute the sense of defeat has started to set in.

Giving up your favorite foods, your extra sleep, your tv time or time out with friends. Your body will think of all this as pain and kick it to the curb ASAP .

(If you want to know more about the pain/ pleasure concept in regards to your goals, please refer to Awaken the giant by Tony Robbins)

Instead of convincing yourself that you are suffering, think of all the new things you will explore and experience . The new found energy , confidence, and overall feeling of health you will be getting . Eventually your food preferences will change and you will look forward to exercise . True story !!

And remember “not now ” does not mean “not ever ” . finding your food balance and treat/cheat time comes with the territory. 80/20 rule , “eat to live not live to eat ” and all that .

Progress not perfection has kept me going more times than I can count.(this coming from a serial perfectionist )

Many people will purchase a workout program or a nutrition plan and not keep going because it is seemingly too hard .

I still am not great at push ups, stink at running and it took me at least a year to understand the complete choreography to a Turbofire round.

What’s important is that I go farther , add on more or keep trying .

If you need, take small steps in reference to your eating as well .

Eliminate soda and increase your water intake.

Decrease processed foods and intro more whole foods . Eat at your favorite takeout once a month instead of once a week.

Cutting everything out all at once can send you right into sacrifice mode. Just be mindful to an increase of positive changes .

STOP WITH THE EXCUSES !!!

We all have the same 24 hours . We all have challenges within those hours .

For every excuse there is a valid response as to why your excuse is invalid .

Remember that default response of your brain ?

Your excuse will just feed its need to do what is easiest , sometimes the only answer is to push yourself .

Your body and your brain will thank you later .

Turnin your health and fitness into a priority . You will make time instead of look to find time .

Say ” I must ” instead of ” I should”

The Hipssister goes where you go!

The HipS-Ssister goes where you go!

Hey guys!

Part of what I love about being a member of the Healthy Housewives Team is that we get to try out cool active wear and accessories. I had the opportunity to take the HipS-Sister athletic accessory for a trial run today, and I give it FIVE STARS (out of five stars!) There is only so much a picture can show you, so I made a video for you before my run. Take a look…

And off I go…

Sure, you may not be heading out on a long distance run, but I’ll bet you would love the opportunity to be more compact. As cute as your purse or handbag may be, sometimes we just want to be free of the baggage altogether! I know that with so many fancy designs available, I’ll be ordering a few more colors and prints for myself. You can even customize it of your favorite sports team or charity event. Take a look at HipS-Sister to see for yourself. Or check them out on Facebook and Twitter!

SNEAK PEEK FROM OUR LATEST SHOOT!

Yep, we sassed it up this time!

Yep, we sassed it up this time!

Hey HH family, friends, and fans,

I just wanted to share some pics from our latest shoot. Every year in January we start off by doing a shoot for new website content, social media ad campaigns, and to showcase our current physiques.

Every year our image changes with what we are feeling. We know our home base look is fitness but that is a no brainer. We love all types of looks from very conservative to sexy. We love to showcase the different looks in life. Most days, we our in our workout gear with no make up. We are training our clients, working out, or running errands.

This is how I look at 5 am=hat and no make up!

So when we can get our makeup/hair professionally done, then that is what we are going to do for a fun shoot. I don’t mind wearing no make up and getting my nails dirty but I sure love getting dolled up. My inner vixen comes out to play at the shoots. Kind of like an alter ego if you will.

Make and hair check before I get on set.

After we get all dolled up then we start with the shoot line up. We had 6-7 looks to shoot that day. It takes a lot of work and effort to coordinate a shoot. You have to make sure it fits about 8 people’s schedule. The hair/make up people, the five of us, and the photographer. Then it is picking out tearsheets and finding outfits.

Selfie check before we start shooting.

Then after that, we have to have a meeting to make sure we are all on the same page. An average shoot starts at 9:30 am and ends at 6 pm. That is being in hair/make up for over an hour to eating lunch to shooting. But when the shots come on the photographers screen, all the hard work and effort was worth it!

To get 5 girls to have thier best faces and thier bodies to look awesome for the camera is harder than you think. Every pictures one of us had a goofy face or our body was in the wrong position and was not flattering. Since our ad campaigns our very specific, so are our pictures to get the right shot.

you can never take enough selfie's at a sexy shoot. I never look like this in real life, well, maybe for my husband! ;-)

Shot after shot we were nailing it. All in all it was a great day. We can’t wait to show you what we have come up with to share with you our message. Thank you all for supporting us and our mission-YOU!
