New Year’s Eve

New Year's Eve

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the holiday with your family! Our Christmas here in Dallas was extra special since we had a white Christmas and that rarely happens! I told my 5 year old daughter Bronwyn to sit by the window and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of the snow since it could be a long while before we see more especially on Christmas day so we did together!

Well today is New Year’s Eve (Eve) and if you are still putting together a last minute outfit and still trying to figure out if you are doing anything, I have a few easy last minute dressing ideas for you. These suggestions can take you out on the town, house party, dinner out and dinner in!

  1. Jewelry for your feet.  Pull out the stilettos with studs, rhinestones, sequins and all over dazzle.
  2. Glittery tops. Pair a glittery top embellished with jewels, sequins, or crystals with black pants or skirt. Your bottom can be in any fabric as long as it’s black.  Think leather skinnys, brocade black, short flare skirt, pencil skirt.
  3. Glitzy jackets. A blazer, tuxedo jacket, motorcycle jacket or vest will work over a simple black top and elegant pant.
  4. Long glamorous earrings will add a lot of extra to your ensemble.  Find earrings dripping with color and lots of stones.
  5. Red Lips. Not a whole lot to say here but wow! Red lips are so in now. If you go with this look, keep makeup at a minimum as to not compete with your lips.  Application notes, be sure to line lips in red and note that richer colors looks best on darker complexions while fair skinned individuals should opt for a brighter red.  You may need to buy a couple of colors at the drugstore (that’s what I did) and try a couple of shades until you find the tone you are happy with.
  6. False Lashes. I love false lashes period.  I wear them all the time but hey it’s New Year’s Eve so have some fun! I love the lashes with embellishments especially with a soft or nude lip!

Just follow at least two of the tips above and no need to stress or run out and buy something new. Remember to celebrate in moderation and don’t forget about setting your goals for the New Year! Here’s to Healthy and Happy 2013!!!!  Kathy, Fit Fashionista
